All New: "Spot The Mistake" Contest!
I just saw a grevious mistake in my last post. If you spot it, post a comment to THIS post. And crooked stamping does NOT count! Think about something that bugs me a lot, and you will know where to start looking. I will go dig up something to give away. ;-) I will pick a winner from all the correct answers using an as-yet-undefined non-scientific method. One entry per person, please (sheesh, like my beloved 2 - or maybe 3 - readers would double-post!) Please respond by 6 pm Sunday, Feb 24th, and I'll let you know what you have won!
Actually I see two - Fiskars is misspelled and this sentence - So far, that's two bad's. - should not have an apostrophe in bad. I didn't see anything wrong with the card but then I'm no fish expert - I like the Anniversary Cod!
ReplyDeleteIn addition to what Jackie mentioned with the misspelling of Fiskars and the *bad's* error, you also put it's rather than its when you spoke of "it" joining "it's friends." It's is a contraction for it is or it has.
ReplyDeleteIts is a possessive pronoun.
Love the Cod card! hah! I'd love to have that stamp myself. :D
I found the Fiskars mis-spelling, the it's instead of its. Plus, there should not be a "the"before SU (in 2nd to last paragraph). I did enjoy the post---it sounds so like me.

Everything Linda said... and I am so glad to hear that someone else likes to fondle paper !!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great cod!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI found the same mistakes as the posters ahead of me!
Kerry Morgan
i'll be honest, i found no mistakes...your writing style is very compelling and the story had me so i wasn't really looking for errors after a bit...i would like to point out that kentucky girl is a complete grammar geek (i can say that, i've known since rattails and leg warmers)
ReplyDeletealso, i should go shopping more, i never catch sales
In addition to the bad's and the it's (actually a contraction of it is, so not "it is friends")and the extra "the", Fiskars was misspelled twice.
ReplyDeleteBut... do we really want to nitpick? Thanks for sharing all your ideas.

Two spelling errors: You used "bad's" instead of "bads" in the 4th paragraph. Also, you used "it's" instead of "its" in the second to last paragraph (re: Ribbon). Love the card, though! Thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteIn the first paragraph, it would be swore off them instead of swore them off after M's and ACM's. I like the punny fish card.
ReplyDeleteAlong with the ones that the previous comments stated I spotted these: Anywho should be two words, Durn should be darn, naive should have a semicolon instead of a comma, scrap book should be one word. Of course, I'm not sure about any of these. I could be completely wrong but it was fun trying to find them. I had to read it about 5 times to come up with any. Love your blog, love your creations and love reading about organization. I'm what you would call a silent stalker.
ReplyDeleteI found the Fiskars misspelling too. And I have to say that card got me to chuckle!!

I found the same spelling punctuation mistakes that are already listed...sorry can't be more oringinal...I will admit though that I missed the "it's" vs "its" mistake.... LOL
ReplyDeleteBeing a fan of Fiskars I saw that you had misspelled it Fiskers. Would be hard to find a company by that name if I was trying to find what you were talking about. I'm impressed with the new blades that they have I think it would be fun to own one.
ReplyDeleteIs the mistake that the fish isn't really a Cod??
ReplyDeleteThanks!
