SOS #71 - Go Green

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Shopping Our Stash challenge. This week we ask you to GO GREEN. You can either use the color green, or you can recycle something to use on your card. Or heck - DO BOTH!  I did. :)

Here's my card:

I'm quite proud of this card, I'm not gonna lie. First, I used not one but TWO pieces of that retired SU DSP from the now-organized Heaplet, and the green layer is also from my now-organized remnant box. AND, I broke out some new-to-me goodies, too: the heart die and the banner die.

As an added bonus, I used two pieces of MFT packaging for my recycled element and die-cut some hearts to use as layers under the DSP heart.

Oh, oh, but first I MUST show you my desk, since it's almost never this clean:

LOOK AT ALL THAT ROOM! You can see the whole grid paper pad, even. You can also see the ink swatch key ring I made as part of the Kick Start Online Card Class. It's a work in progress, and yes, I have a lot of ink.

Okay, I need to focus here...

As I said, I used two pieces of the MFT packaging and cut out some hearts:

And now the packaging is gone. :) I stacked up the three hearts, then put the die-cut DSP over it. Here is a side view of the stacked pieces:

You can also see I've colored the sides of the heart - they were very WHITE. I feel obligated to share with you that there are actually two pieces of DSP hearts. That's because as I completed coloring the edge of the hearts with my Wild Wasabi marker, I slipped and colored all over the DSP. It suks being me sometimes.

The banner and sentiment are from my new stash from Simon Says Stamp. I inked the sentiment in (retired) SU Blue Bayou.

Okay, now it's YOUR turn. Go into your stash and find something green OR find something you can recycle and re-purpose to use on a card OR do both! Then make your card and come back to Shopping Our Stash to link us up so we can see what you've made.

Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I am loving that banner - gorgeous - and may I just say, how many times I have KILLED something by slipping with a marker at the last second? The air just goes blue. Bluer, anyway.
And, um, ink a bit? Excellent variety you've got there :)
