Loopy Birthday

I my continuing effort to use my new stuff and put it away, I pulled out my Memory Box Loopy Circles die. Let's just say I started out making something completely different than this, but I'm kinda happy with how it turned out.

Here's the card, then I'll explain:

After several false starts, I die-cut the circles out of both blue and dark pink. I wanted to use the blue as the main piece (you all know how much I love pink, right?) so I popped the whole die-cut out of the blue piece, and pulled just the outlines from the pink die-cut.

Adhesive ... how to make it stick. I turned the blue piece over and lined the back with Sookwang tape so the sticky side faced front. Then I turned it right-side up and carefully placed the pink circles into position. Then the work began: I took each of the blue pieces and put it back into the shape. When it was all done, I turned it over and burnished the back with my bone folder to make it stick reeeeal good. It looks cool now, but I was definitely questioning my sanity while doing it.

I stuck on the banner pieces using my Tiny Attacher and covered the staples with the sentiment banner. A few enamel dots to pull in the grey, and I called it done.

I had originally put it onto a grey card base, but I detested it, so I put it onto white instead. Much better.

I declare this a masculine card, even with the pink. Well, I know a guy is the intended recipient, so it's masculine in my world.

I may go back in and try to salvage one of the false start versions of this. :)
