I seem to be back in my crafty funk, lacking mojo. I've made a ton of pretty trash, though. So I pulled myself up by the bootstraps and decided to get serious. One of the things I do to get ideas is to read blogs and check out Pinterest, though sometimes I see the same things in both places.
The other day I went through my Pinterest board of card ideas, and also my CASE THIS tags in Feedly, and printed them out. Let me just say I can't CASE anything, either. Like I said: lots of pretty trash.
However, I did manage to eke out two cards, and I'm so desperate for material, I'll post them one at a time. It's that bad, yes, it is.
For my first CASE, I used this card as a basis to make my version:
On the original card, she stamped the birds on card stock colored with ink, then cut them out. I decided to mask them instead and color them with Copics. Also, since I never 100% CASE a card, I gave one of the birds a little attitude. :)
I also gave my guys grey/gray beaks, and I used Enamel Accents to embiggen the black dots on their eyes.
One other thing I had to change: I generally stamp on a 4x5.25" piece of white, then layer that onto the card base. Unfortunately these birds didn't fit five across unless I used a full 4.25" width, and yes, I tried, several times. Sigh.
Other than all that, I really like how this came out!
Thanks for stopping by!
I just love your personal, whimsical touch on this card! My eyes were immediately drawn to that bird with the attitude!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest card! I love those silly birds and especially the upside down one.
