SOS #146: Pieces of April

It's Tuesday, and time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. This week's theme is Pieces of April, and we'd like you to use paper piecing on your project.

I made my card last weekend while at a crafty retreat, so my lighting is worse than usual (sorry):

I used my new-to-me HAD-TO-HAVE-IT stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps. I stamped this guy on the white card front, then again on a piece of patterned paper. I originally cut out the top (forehead & eyelids) and bottom (bod) and pieced them over the one I'd stamped on the card front. I didn't like it. Then I got a clue. I stamped him again on both blue and white, cut out the whole image from the blue piece, then cut out just the eyes from the white and put them on top of the blue. duh. Then I paper-pieced his nose and he was done.

I die-cut several clouds, stamped the sentiment onto one of them, stacked them, and edged the stack with a light blue Copic. (I only slipped once.) I stamped the thought circles, then glued down the cloud stack. My last act was to layer the white front onto a red-ish paper from the same pack. This will eventually be put onto a white card base.

He was quite a popular fellow at the crafty retreat. I like attitude.

Wanna play along? Go get out your stamps with lines that are good for paper piecing. MAKE something with it, then come back to Shopping Our Stash and link us up. I hope you'll join us!

Thanks for stopping by!
