Hello, and Happy Day After Mundane! It's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. This week, in honor of today being the deadline for filing income taxes here in the USofA, our theme is Tax Man, and we'd like you to use numbers on your project.
Here's my card:
This is actually my second attempt, as my first one crashed and burned. (name that movie) In the end, though, this one was waaaay easier than my first idea, so I win.
I stamped the Hero Arts Numbers background with Versamark ink onto white card stock. Unfortunately I didn't clean it well enough from the failed card, so some color came through, both on the card front and on my Versamark pad. Sigh. So I embossed it in white instead of clear, and I think most of it is hidden.
I added Distress inks to color the background, slapped on a sentiment, and DONE!
So, have you done your taxes yet (US peeps)? Or are you a last-minute person that drives to the Post Office just before midnight? I'm happy to say mine were done a few weeks ago, as I cannot take the pressure of all that last-minute stuff. {shudder}
So, why not pull out some number stuff and play along with us over at SOS? I think you should!
Thanks for stopping by!
What a great job on the numbers challenge, love the colours. in Canada we seill have 15 days and it's on my agenda to sort and take it to the guru that does our taxes.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhh love it!!! Love the colours, the numbers, the sentiment!! Awesome possum!!
ReplyDeleteTaxes done, refund already spent (remember that stamp convention I went to??!). Great card! I love that people do random numbers for birthday cards that way you can use it for anyone, especially those people who are confused on their age. 29 again? Really?!
ReplyDeleteYep, it's a perfect day for numbers and I like your card a whole lot more than I'm gonna like doing taxes today. But it must be done.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I am loving the colours & the bold sentiment! We do still have 15 days in Canada, but since we get a return (yay for disability credits! lol!) hubby files as soon as all the paperwork arrives, usually in February :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the way your card looks, Leslie! So simple, yet it packs quite a punch! Love the colors with that big sentiment in the middle!
ReplyDeleteP.S. The movie is Top Gun
yeah, i'm an early(ish) tax-doer. this year & last i was record-settingly early b/c i had the luxury of professional tax prep, which was lovely. next year, i'll be back to moaning in mid-march, probably.
ReplyDeleteps: i LOVE this card, i'm loving the cards this week, generally. so i think that means it was the PERFECT theme!!!!!! <3
