Sending Love

I AM NOT DEAD! I've have been off the grid since Thursday afternoon, though. I had the pleasure of attending the Simon Says Create event in Columbus this past weekend, even if I was a volunteer and didn't take any of the classes. What a fantastic weekend, so full of creative mojo and information. Plus, there was an on-site Simon Says Stamp store, and OMG, I'd forgotten how wonderful the fondle factor was. I may or may not have purchased more than I'd intended to purchase, though at least I checked my recent orders so I didn't double up anywhere. Pretty sure I didn't ...

One of the store displays was all Lawn Fawn, and let me just say an inordinate amount of it came home with me. That, in addition to the raffle I won at a recent crafty event - a basked full of Lawn Fawn! - it's safe to say it's time I started playing the Lawnscaping Challenges, dontcha think?

The current challenge is embossing:

so I went into my craft room, sorted all my Lawn Fawn goodies, and ended up with an old set in my hand to use. No, I can't explain it. Here's my card*:

I used the You've Got Mail set for everything but the hearts I stamped on the envelopes. That's from the Into the Woods set (one of the hearts from the strip of hearts - I was reeeeeally careful.)  The mailbox was stamped onto some Hello Sunshine striped paper with Memento Luxe Black and clear-embossed, then fussy-cut. The envelopes were stamped with the same ink onto white, clear-embossed and cut out.

I put foam adhesive on the mailbox and two of the envelopes, then stuck them to another piece of Hello Sunshine paper. I thought the birds were so cute! For my final act, I stuck the paper to a white card base, then cut to strips of a red paper and added them to the sides.

Here's a close-up of the embossing:

I'm off to link up, then maybe play another challenge. Could happen, or I might nap. We'll see.

Thanks for stopping by!

*I'm pretty sure I've seen a lot of similar cards over the years, so this is subconsciously based on those, although the Hello Sunshine papers and embossing are probably different twists.

Stuff I used: vat of clear embossing powder, and the following:

  3. Visiting from Lawn Fawn. I like the I've Got Mail stamp set. Like how you used embossing ink for the mailbox & envelopes and the close up shows it wonderfully. Not used embossing of ink for that set and you've inspired me to try it. I wanted to ask what brand of black embossing powder did you use?

  4. LOL!!!! The "fondle factor" can be dangerous to your wallet! I can’t wait to see what you do with your new stuff. “You’ve Got Mail” is a favorite of mine too. Love your card. Embossing on the patterned paper was a brilliant idea.
