One of my crafty friends gave me a bunch of stuff to store in my craft room instead of hers, and since I don't really have any floor space left, I decided to use some of the items during this past Sunday's crafty day.
I had some wood veneer Thank You flags, and chose this now-expired (missed it by 6 hours) sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:
I thought the wooden banner would be perfect as one of the horizontal elements, and it was! Lookie:
I was so proud of myself for not only using all four remaining wooden banners (I made four of these), but that I left so. much. white. space. and I LIVED!
The papers are all from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm 6x6 pack. The busy piece was cut with an MFT Dizzy Doily die. Thanks to the Online Card Class Pattern Play classes that helped me select the coordinating papers!
The toughest part of these cards was popping out all the pieces of paper from the die. I forgot to use the metal shim when I die-cut them, so it was a bit of fussy work, but other than that, these came together very quickly.
I'm also entering this card into the Virginia's View Challenge to use die-cuts:
I use die-cuts all the time, and this one was an MFT Doily die I bought forever ago and was happy to resurrect and use.
I have a few more cards I made that I'll share later in the week.
Thanks for stopping by!
Your CAS approach is fabulous, Leslie! I love the elements that you chose for this design. That doily die from MFT is simply perfect in this! So glad that you join the fun over Virginia's View Challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou not only LIVED, Leslie, you ROCKED that white space! I adore this card!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteVery nice...I love using sketches and your totally rocked this one!
ReplyDeleteI love my crafty friends who give me things to hoard in my craft space :) Fabulous layout - and white space! With no fingerprints! I am jealous :)
ReplyDeleteThat medallion piece thing is fun. I love that you cut it out of pattern paper. I'm not brave enough to cut things out of pattern paper. When I do it looks stupid. When others do it looks brilliant. Yipee for using all the wooden banners. I'm so proud!
