MFT Color Challenge, Part Second

One of these days, Inlinkz will let us link multiple cards from the same post. Until then, you'll get to see multiple posts from me for those days I actually have two or more ideas for the same challenge. Hey, it happens.

The current MFT Color Challenge is:

I posted my first card earlier, and then I made another:

I selected four colors of Simon Says Stamp card stock, cut them into 1/4" strips, then lined them up on a piece of card stock. I then die-cut some Lawn Fawn hearts in a semi-circle from a layer of white card stock and put the striped piece behind it. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

Then I decided it needed a red layer, so I put all of that onto a red layer. When I put the card onto a white base and tried to lift it, I almost blew a gasket. To make it even heavier, I filled in the hearts with Glossy Accents and set it aside to dry.

While that was drying, I spied the leftover die-cut hearts, and this card was born:

It doesn't use the challenge colors, but it used the remnants of that first one, and it came together quite fast. It also doesn't weigh 5 pounds. The little white heart next to the 'y' covers an unfortunate ink schmear. You can't tell from my crack photography skills, but the hearts were covered with Wink of Stella glitter and Glossy Accents. They are quite sparkly and shiny. :)

I'm going back in to Challenge Land to take advantage of my active mojo. Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: Taylored Expressions Happy Hearts, and the following:

  1. ermagerd, rainbow schtuff! The red layers were totally necessary. I love the fun whimsical fonts on the sentiment, and well, RAINBOW!

  2. It's good to have a 5-pound card. We need to get a little exercise sometimes. I run everyday. Sure, it's just my nose, but that counts. Love the glossy accents over the replaced die cuts. Gonna have to try that.
