SOS #161: Eat Five A Day!

It's Tuesday, and time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. This week's theme is Eat Five A Day, and we're to use vegetable or fruit images on our projects.

I knew exactly what I'd use. :) Here's my card:

These are old Hambo stamps (linked below) that I've had for many, many years. I stamped the pea pod on white and colored it with Copics. The Kraft background was boring by itself, so I embossed it with one of my new-to-me embossing folders and put the white circle in the center.

Here's some detail of the embossing, and evidence I put Glossy Accents on the peas' eyes:

I just love their expressions! You can also see the spots I missed when coloring. I told you I can't color!

So, I think you should go dust off your fruit and veggie stamps and come play along over at SOS!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: Hambo Pea Pod image (at the bottom of the page) and Give Peas A Chance sentiment (about 1/3 of the way down the page under Doubles; pea pod is there, too), and the following:

  2. Hi Leslie, fabulous card, love that image and yep those pun cards are great!
Just wanted to pop on over and say thank you for the lovely comment you left on my SOS can't put it down entry.
Your comment made me laugh out right and it was spot on. Don't think I'll ever completely use those papers up because I am having too much fun making my own and I never considered it to be a life skill lol!
You have also helped me with a question about the seasonal Distress ink pads Seedless Preserves and Evergreen Bough are now at the top of my wish list - thank you for the inspiration Karen xx

  4. I feel so peas-full looking at this card. That's much nicer than visualizing whirled peas because that makes me think of the exorcist but that was really split pea soup. Poor peas! We really do a number on them don't we?!

  5. I LOVE THIS CARD! The embossing is perfect - like the peace is radiating off the peas. Jeez that was hard to think out. Plus, awesome glossy accents accents! :) I need more coffee.
