One of the benefits of blurfing is discovering new challenge blogs. However, that's also one of its down-sides, as my challenge list runneth over. One way to combat this is to (1) be very selective in what I choose to tackle each week, and (2) combine challenges.
This card does the latter: it combines a new sketch challenge with a color challenge. I got the sketch from a newly-discovered-by-me* blog called Match The Sketch:
and the colors came from the current Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge:
where "One" is one color, aka: monochromatic. I chose the Hero Arts Pool family, since I just reorganized my UFO piles and found all sorts of pool parts. Here's my card, then I'll explain:
As part of the reorganization process, I rediscovered a few stamps I had out and then didn't use, so they got buried. I also had a pile of circles cut from the pool papers, so this card kinda came together all by itself. I struggled with what to do for the colored panel (heaven forbid I just put it on a white card base), until I figured out I also had a stash of Hero Arts Artist papers, and dug this piece out of the pool collection.
I became re-acquainted with a few other gems in the UFO piles, so I'm going back in to try a few more challenges.
Thanks for stopping by!
* In one of David Sedaris' books I have on CD (probably Me Talk Pretty One Day), he says he refused to date anyone who "discovered" a restaurant that is currently listed in the New York City phone book.
Stuff I used: Sentiment from Eat Cake Graphics (93153), SU mini glue dots, Tombow pink dot refill, and the following:
Love it!! Great take on the sketch and I adore the sentiment! Thanks for coming back to the sisterhood (eeee that sounds kinda creepy) for the O is for One challenge :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great choice for the colour family, it looks so good on this card! Happen to like the sentiment a lot too. :D Thanks for joining the fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! Glad we could make your challenge "cut". ;)
ReplyDeleteLOVE! The offset circles are a fab element (must try that) and pool is a grand choice of colour. Plus, that sentiment? Yes please. (And I snorted at the Sedaris footnote...love that guy)
ReplyDeleteAwesome card! The design, color (love it), and sentiment are fabulous! Thanks for joining the monochromatic fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!
ReplyDeleteLove your color choice. Thanks for joining us at SoSS
