I totally cheated, and used the same image and sentiment I used for a former movie-inspired card. If you go look at that card, you'll see how much my style has morphed in the past 4.5 years.
Anyway, here's my card, then I'll explain:
Can you guess the movie? Why, it's Pride & Prejudice (with the hawt Colin Firth, of course). One thing that hasn't changed is the sound of screeching when Mrs Bennett speaks. Poor, poor Mr Bennett, and poor, suffering Lizzy.
Here's a nice compilation of the whining:
I feel good about this card, since I'm not sure I've even used that stamp and sentiment since I made the last card, so both totally qualify as stash. And that doily is from a pack of 50 I got centuries ago. I don't think I'll ever use them all.
I colored her dress in grey markers, and the flower got a pop of yellow, which dictated which piece of remnant card stock I pulled from the pile next to my paper cutter.
I followed the current CAS(E) This Sketch! sketch:
And because it's still open, I'm going to also enter this card in the current Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge:
So, do you have a favorite movie? I think you should come play along with us this week. And make sure to check out all the great movie-inspired cards my fellow teammates made over on the SOS blog!
Thanks for stopping by!
Stuff I used: Lady image from River City Rubber Works, sentiment from who-knows-where -- it's unmounted, remnant of yellow card stock from the pile next to my trimmer, doily from who-knows-where pack of 50, memento black ink, Copics (Y13, T1, T2, 0, E000, E71), 1/8" corner chomper, foam tape.
Fabulous job with the challenge, great use of the doily in the sketch. I don't think I know this movie but I will look for it on the old movie channel.
ReplyDeleteYes, this movie is a favorite of mine. I do find Mrs Bennet to be very vexing! Great image and sentiment. Poor Lizzie with her mother and sisters!

Please put in your will that when you kick it I need this greeting stamp. I also need in as a t-shirt and a bumper sticker and possibly a billboard.
