I'm at a crafty weekend thingie, and I'm hoping to have some of the surrounding mojo rub off on me. So far I've made 2 cards in 10 hours, and it's not like I haven't tried. Several of us finally broke out some Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps and started playing. This is what came out of my first effort:
I love these birds, and even though I've seen some wicked-good examples with watercolor, I used Copics to color him, or is it a her? I may water color some another day.
I like that you can make these birds say just about anything, so I did. Because I'm being challenged with worse-than-normal lighting conditions, I'm not even sure this is in focus. Let me try again with the sentiment:
heh heh
It only took me an hour or so to figure out how to get the bird's tail to stick out of the die-cut frame. I need to work on that some more. Or maybe I need a nap.
I'll probably play with these guys some more this weekend, so I'll share if one is actually blog-worthy.
Thanks for stopping by!
Stuff I used: Mama Elephant dies, craft knife to trim around the bird's tail, and the following:
I was going to comment on how impressed I was that the tail was sticking out of the frame, so pat yourself on the back, smart girl.
ReplyDeleteThese birds crack me up. I love this one and the snark sentiment. I want these guys, but I'm nto sure wha t I would do with them, I still want them, though. They are out of stock everywhere 😦
ReplyDeleteLove this! Love these guys and can't wait for mine to get here.
ReplyDeleteOkay...I don't get the bird thing...I am probably the only person in blog land that doesn't have these or is waiting for them...but seeing that snarky sentiment...well that elevates these birds to FUN.
ReplyDeleteYour card is great!
YAH I suck at the out-of-the-die thing. Too much like work. I love this sentiment A LOT.
ReplyDeleteFun card! Those birds are so full of snark, they are perfect for all occasions! As for the vote (more technique vs. nap) I vote for nap and will every time!
ReplyDeleteLove this card so much. It's fantastic.
ReplyDeletelove the card - where did the sentiment come from
ReplyDeleteI can't find am email address for you, so this is the best I can do to answer your question. The sentiment is from a Lil Inker set: http://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/snarky-sentiments-stamps/
