Here's my card, then I'll explain:
Note: When you make the image large enough, you can see the glue snot. Not exactly what I'd intended. I'll clean it up better, I promise. |
It all started with the strip of MFT Washi Patterns stamp that looks like gingham. I stamped it in Hero Arts Pool, because it was still out from the last card I made. Plus I like it. :)
Then I sat there like Winnie the Pooh and did the Think, Think, Think thing, like this:
until I got a clue.
I pulled out my Hero Arts Irregular Checkerboard Background stencil and used daubers to add some Tide Pool, Soft Cantaloupe, and Wet Cement inks (they were all still out ... I'm so lazy). Then I spied the black sentiment next to my work area, and declared it perfect.
I'm kinda happy how this turned out.
So, got gingham, checks, squares, etc.? Why not join us this week over at Shopping Our Stash!
Thanks for stopping by!
Perfect!I love the soft colors of your larger squares. That sentiment die looks as if it was made just for this card. Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh I love that washi stamp! It totally looks like gingham....glue snot...where?? I don't see it and I am wearing my glasses!! Love the colours and fab use of the stencil!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I love the colors and that beautifully composed focal! I love all your cards, but I think this is one of my favorites! Outstanding!

"Glue snot?" First time I've heard that very appropriate term, LOL! Love this card and how you took the Gingham to a new level with the stencil! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous job on the squares, they are perfect and that die cut is awesome. Doh, I have gingham washi tape (at home) never thought to look at any of that. Kudos for thinking outside the square.
ReplyDeletePurty colors! I like the combination of gingham, checks and squares. You got 'em all.
