Dust 'Em Off!

The latest challenge at A Blog Named Hero is to dust off a seldom- or never-used Hero Arts item and use it to make a card.  My only problem was where to start?!?! I took the opportunity to go through my bag(s) of I MUST OWN THIS stamps that are still, um, in their packages. Yes, indeedy.

I selected my Hero Arts Three Ferns stamp, and then I had A Moment. Angels may have sung, even.  First, there was the fern stamp. Then I had an email from a pal asking if I had any traditional Sympathy cards. I also had read something about stamping on patterned paper, and wanted to do that again. This is what came out:

Ta-da! It was kismet. And I don't even care that the fern didn't perfectly stamp! Both the text paper and the green layer are from The Heaplet. Ink is Ranger Distress Bundled Sage. Sentiment is Paper Smooches, stamped in SU Basic Gray. Pearls by KaiserCraft.

Okay, now if you'll excuse me, I need to go try and salvage a card I spent HOURS making yesterday, and trashed with some poorly schmeared glue. :(

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This looks great on that paper! Perfect sympathy card! Thanks for playing along with us at A Blog Named Hero!

PS- EK Success makes an adhesive remover that works wonders! Maybe it would help on your card with the poorly schmeared glue. :)

  2. I think you achieved perfections for all the above mentioned categories...and I like the rough stamped look on this card...if it had come out solid, it might just have been too much...it looks intentional on this card!

  3. Leslie this is awesome! I love that the fern didn't stamp all the way. It gives it character and a softness. Great Card!!! Thanks so much for playing along with us at A Blog Named Hero

  4. Love your card! Now, I saw the proof-reader page and now I'm a little nervous that I'll fudge up this comment :) I love that the fern stamped a little wonky, it looks intentional :) Thanks for playing with us at A Blog Named Hero :)
