Tuesday Morning #168

I'm home sick today (stoopid aging digestive system) and I've managed to make two cards. Two whole cards. I woke up late and I got dizzy and started sweating if I moved around too much, so I mostly sat on the couch and drooled. You can have a pity party for me if you'd like. You can get me some food, too, since I finally showered, but put on clean jammies, so I'm not going out. Thanks.

Okay, I did some blurfing and picked up a new-to-me challenge blog, because as you well know, I don't have enough challenges to fall behind on, so I've added a few more. This one is Tuesday Morning, and here is their current sketch:

which I turned on its ear in my brain as soon as I saw it:

and I made this:

(Oh, look, that top piece is a bit wonky. ;/ ) I still have my Lawn Fawn Dewey Decimal papers out, so they got used. I love the bold colors in that hexagon pattern, and opted to use part of my one remaining piece of that brick patterned paper for the top layer. There's a sad, sad story about that piece of brick paper, which I'll describe in my next post. Not to worry, though, it has a happy ending! :)

You'll notice I didn't put my sentiment where the sketch indicated, but I'm okay with that, even if it disqualifies me. I thought it looked better across the middle. I also added a heart, because I could.

I like this sketch. I think it's backwards from what I'd normally do, so it made me change things up a bit. Change is good, which may be why I like sketches. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Neat card- and you are sick, you are not expected to whip out tons of cards! REST! Hope you feel better.

  4. I hope you are feeling better soon. I like your interpretation of the sketch and I also appreciate the way you don't always (ok, almost never) follow the sketch exactly but make it your own - even when you're feeling poorly.

  5. As for the sentiment, if its placement disqualifies you, then almost all of the Tuesday Morning design team made disqualified inspiration cards! So I think you're all right.

Don't comfy jammies feel wonderful after a shower? I hope you're feeling better soon.

  7. I didn't even use a sentiment on mine, so I'm pretty sure you're good :) I love it tilted this way! My brain did the same thing (in the other direction) and I love a good sketch that looks good in any orientation.
The drooling, etc. sounds no good. I've gotta say, nothing feels quite as good when you're sick as finally working up the energy to shower, and then putting on clean jammies & resuming sloth. I hope whatever you've got goes away, pronto!
