SOS #81 - Sentimentally Yours

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Shopping Our Stash challenge. This week's theme is Sentimentally Yours, and we'd like you to use a sentiment or quote as your focal point ... no images.

Sentiments: I haz 'em. And most of them are irreverent. heh heh I might be back in my element, though this one is mild.  Here's my card, then I'll explain:

You know me and my little washi tape problem, right? Well, there's none of that here! Nope! This is a piece of paper from the Basic Grey Clippings 6x6 pad. I just trimmed it down to center the banners. It even comes with that neat faux sewing at the top. I did have one small problem though ... the paper is 6" long and so is the pattern:

Okay, I got it down to 5 1/2, but that's still not gonna work with a width of 3 3/4. I briefly (very briefly) considered making a non-A2 card, or trimming the base narrower, but then I had a better idea. I did this:

Then I did this:

I settled on 5" then taped it back together, and the seam is covered by the sentiment. Don't you just love stamping?! :D

Did you notice how I unceremoniously ripped off the bottom left quadrant of my grid paper? It was inky and messy and the rest of it may or may not be covered with other "things". *ahem*

Okay, now it's YOUR turn! Go look through your sentiments and find one that you want to put front and center on your card. Then make the card, post it and come over to Shopping Our Stash and link us up so we can see what you've made!

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Great idea about cutting it in the middle and covering the seam! You could have fooled me, it sure looks like washi tape. I gave in at Archiver's the other day and bought a couple of rolls of washi tape (all your fault!) - now let's see if I actually use them.
