This is a piece of 7 Gypsies flocked paper. I only had part of a 12x12 left, but I got five cards out of it. See those pretty colors in the paper's background? Love it! It's been stuck in a cabinet for years! A travesty!
I layered it onto some SU River Rock, which I deemed a perfect match, then onto a base of Hero Arts black layering paper. I love that I can make a black card and it's white inside. See that black circle under the sentiment? It was cut from a piece of Elizabeth Craft XL Velvet Adhesive Sheet. I might have it in a bazillion colors, and this black was perfect with the flocked paper.
I also cut 2 smaller pieces of the flocked paper and made these:
I added a thin strip of the velvet paper along the right edge, just down to the circle. I would have kept going with it if I could have figured out how to deal with the rounded corner, that I rounded before I thought of the black strip. Again, see the pretty colors in the background of the flocked paper? So pretty.
These cards follow the now-expired MFT sketch:
Always late to that party. Sigh.
I also made two cards with the remains of an old SU card kit. Here's one:
There were two colors of textured card stock, and I couldn't decide which to layer on which, so I didn't decide, and just made two:
I realized I needed a piece of purple to matte the sentiment, and of course I had none left from the kit. Luckily it was Perfect Plum, so I used a piece I easily retrieved from my now-organized card stock. I even used the ribbon included with the kit.
These cards follow the current Stamplorations sketch:
I found two more of these kits, still in shrink wrap. Into the yard sale pile they went. That pile groweth daily, and I need to start labeling and pricing things. I cannot wait for all of this stuff to be OUT of here.
Purging: it's good for the soul. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Stuff I used to make these cards: 7 Gypsies flocked paper, old SU card kit, Elizabeth Craft XL Velvet Adhesive sheets, SU River Rock card stock, miscellaneous black dot things, and the following:
Great use of scraps Leslie.
ReplyDeleteLook at you, using all that s-crap paper! Woot Woot! Fabulous cards, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteThey both look great, but I like the first one better - has more definition around the edges. Thanks so much for playing with us at STAMPlorations. I hope to see you there next time, too! Hugs, Cornelia DT
ReplyDeleteYou can always die cut things out of the middle of a layering piece since that part will be covered up anyway. If you deconstruct my cards you'll find that I do that often. I love the flocked paper card. Extra big kudos to you for using the flocked paper. To me it is too fancy to use. Both your cards are way fancy now. Fancy cards in hand are better than fancy paper in a cabinet.
