Three Birds Hello

During my last crafty play day I made three of these:

They are all the same except for the color of the birds. I stamped each bird on three different colors of Lawn Fawn papers and fussy-cut them out.

Here's another one:

The birds are from a Simon Says Stamp set that's to welcome or announce a newborn (or newborn-to-be), but I had other ideas. Not necessarily good ones, but different.

Once I had all the birds cut out, I pondered a background, and ended up with my usual thing of coloring a piece of white card stock with blue and green Distress inks.

Here's the last one:

Since the two birds on the left look like new parents of an off-colored baby bird, I went with a Hello sentiment. I have no idea for what occasion someone would send this card, but that's not the point, right? MY point is I opened and used some Lawn Fawn papers. *pats self on back*

I had borrowed my friend's stamp set, and she didn't have the dies (or I wouldn't have spent all that time fussy cutting), but I've listed the dies below to save YOU some time. I'm nice like that.

Oh, look, I forgot to color in their beaks. I was going to make them black, but now I don't know. Hmmm ... Also, the larger bird's got a belly button, and I'm not sure I've ever seen one of those before. Still cute, but  ...

I still have a couple more cards from last weekend that I'll share soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Buahahaha! Laughing at Cat's 'Yoda speak' comment! Ok, as for your cards - all totally adorable. I can see these as being sent to friends that are far away. How clever of you to think outside the original baby announcement box!

  4. Sweet, sweet card! I love your adorable family of birds and I think their beaks look fabulous just the way they are.

  5. Yes! I noticed the bird belly button right away. I didn't notice that when Simon introduced these stamps. The pregnant bird thing was a little weird for me. Who delivers the stork's babies? Another stork? I need to know! And congrats for opening and using some Lawn Fawn paper. Time to celebrate by buying another packet of paper.

  6. That's very cute. I do agree about the belly button on the big bird, though. Odd. And probably too close to the edge of the outline to cut it out.
