OCC Stretch Your Stamps 2 - Homework, Day 10

Yeah, I know, I've been a slug about doing my homework for class. I did, however, play with an idea from Day 10, since it justified my purchase (several years ago) of a sheet of fun foam. Here's my card, then I'll explain:

 

No, I did not follow the lesson from class as far as the stamping goes, but I did use the "make your own letter stickers" idea from Laurie Willison's card. I stamped the Hero Arts Envelope Liner background stamp in white pigment ink onto some Neenah Desert Storm card stock, then die-cut the word. I also die-cut the word from some kraft-colored fun foam.

The base of my card was made by applying embossing paste using the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil. I'd made it for something else that didn't happen, so I used it here. It helps me with that whole "white space" thing.

I used my T-square to line up the letters, and stuck them on with multi medium. To anchor them, I added a thin strip of navy washi tape that I trimmed down with my paper trimmer. I also added the navy washi tape just inside the edges of the card (I wanted the Kraft to still show), and mounted the white layer on foam adhesive.

Even though my card was just influenced by class, I'm still glad I made it. I might use up that foam, too. Someday. A girl can dream.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go pick up my food share for this week. I checked: no beets! I did find my neighbor likes beets, but there have been zero takers for the kale. It's a tough crowd.
