We're about mid-point in the month and the clock is ticking for you to play the current Crooked Stamper Sketch Challenge.
I made another card to hopefully inspire you to play along:
I flipped the sketch a little:
The background for this card was made using a technique in the last Online Card Classes - Background Check. It's one of the cool techniques we learned to use with patterned paper. I actually re-discovered this 6x6 pad of paper in my stash. It's from Prima, and I would not knowingly buy this one. It must have been a gift, from someone who wants to see my 6x6 paper storage shelf collapse under its own weight.
So I chose a busy patterned piece of paper, one that I'd never use on its own, and embossed and inked it to within an inch of its life. Here you can see some of the shiny:
I used grey ink instead of the black that was used in class, mostly because I like to be different, but I think it was a very soft paper, so I went with the softer ink.
For the vertical element of the sketch, I just used a piece of vellum, and then I placed the die-cut over it.
So, you can still enter - the linky is open through the 21st. You know you want to win something from my basket of "why did I buy two of these?!" and also some other cool goodies. So come on over and play!
Thanks for stopping by!
Stuff I used: vat of clear embossing powder, miscellaneous diagonal stencil, remnant of grey card stock, and the following:
You did a great job with that background, it looks so cool. I like that technique and I have plenty of PP to use it on, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch Leslie and I'm trying to find the energy to get into the craft room and hopefully I will before the end of your challenge. I do love to play along with your sketches. Enjoy the evening.
ReplyDeleteI like the stripey background!
ReplyDelete"It must have been a gift, from someone who wants to see my 6x6 paper storage shelf collapse under its own weight." Perhaps from your evil twin? I mean the good twin! You're the evil one, right?
I don't think I'm going to be able to swing it on making a card for this challenge but I do love the sketch. May have to just take some time off and get one done. LOVE the card you created! So pretty.
