Epic Love - Framed

The current (current, I KNOW) challenge at The Paper Players is Framed:

I used this opportunity to play with an idea I had. Back in September, my pal Natalie (check out her SCS gallery - amazing stuff there) made this card for a challenge I was hostessing:

See how there is a cut-out that looks like it's part of the frame? Well, that's because IT IS! I demanded she link me IMMEDIATELY to where I could purchase this die, which she did because she is so nice, but then she informed me it's discontinued.

Side note: This is my lot in life. Shoes that fit: discontinued. Jeans that fit: discontinued. Dies I must own: discontinued. Sigh.

So I decided I could make my own frame dies if I only owned the Deckled Edge Rectangle dies, so I bought them. I did. And today I USED them to make this:

You might need to embiggen the image to see some of the detail. Here is how I cut the frame:

Then I cut another piece of white for the center. I stamped it with my now-open Hero Arts Envelope Liner background stamp in Tide Pool ink. Actually, I did that and decided it was too dark, so this one has been stamped off to lighten the color.

I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts Epic Love OWH set, and stamped it again in Distress Persimmon Ink to have the heart to cut out. After I put the frame together onto the Pool card base, I decided it was boring, so I added dots with my Viva Pearl Pen:

That's it! It was pretty easy to make, and now that I own the Deckled Edge Rectangles, I can play with my other rectangular dies and see what else I can create. (Did you see what I just did there? Mmm-hmmm.)

I have a few more challenges waiting in the wings, and I hope to get to a few of them between laundry and cleaning.

Thanks for stopping by!

Products used but not linked below: Viva Pearl Pen - Ice White. Also, you can purchase the Ranger seasonal inks individually now, but Inlinkz won't let me link to the single inks. Boo.

  2. Laundry? Cleaning? These things sound lame. I would skip them.
I'm trying not to look at how awesome these dies are, and I'm only looking out the corner of my eye at that pearl pen. Sheesh. Good thing I don't have a credit card or I'd shop every single time I visit!
