Relax

I was fortunate to receive a sneak peek stamp set from the new (available today!) Simon Says Stamp release.  Here's the card I made:

The sun has a solid center, but because I'm contrary, my idea was to cut out a circle from the center and make it into a shaker.

I stamped the sun in Duckling, one of Simon's new ink colors, then cut out the circle. I stuck a piece of acetate behind the opening, then on the card base, I glued down a few orange sequins from my stash, and left a few floating freely. I knew I wanted to use orange with the yellow, so to balance it all, I added a strip of orange and white washi tape to the left side. I first went over the card stock with the Duckling ink so the white was more yellow.

Even though my favorite part of this stamp set is/are all the cool sunshine-related sentiments, I opted to use the relax sentiment here instead. I stamped it in Memento Luxe Grey Flannel and clear-embossed it. The line under the sentiment is actually a separate stamp, and I think I got it mostly straight, even.

To round out the rule-of-three, I stamped the Find Your Happy in orange.

There are some very cool new products in this release, and I may have already shopped. I did show incredible restraint, though. :)
