Don't Faint ... I've Made Some Cards

Sometimes you sits and sits, and sometimes you even sits and thinks. I've been catching up on my blog reading, and darn it if that Jennifer McGuire didn't do something to make my brain go "WHOA". And the best part is I already had everything I needed to play along. Sweet.

The video that woke up some of my snoring brain cells was one she called Faux Textured Metal Paper. If you haven't watched this video yet, do it soon! You will fall in love with your stuff all over again.

So, here's the first card I made:

I masked the rectangle and inked the center heavily with Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Broken China. But since I'm ornery, and I like to be different, instead of using the white Perfect Pearls powder to cover the ink, I used Mint Perfect Pearls.  It's still shiny and gorgeous, just with more of a green tone:

I love it!

I also dug through my cache of embossing folders, and there was a lot of, "Oh, yeah, I remember that ..." These exercises are good for us, if only to remind us of what we already have.

I made a second card using Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber.

In hindsight I think the Fossilized Amber is too dark here, but now I can say I've used it, so there's that.

For this one, I used Mandarin Perfect Pearls. Check out the shiny:

I made a third card, but I wasn't careful when I removed the masking tape, and I tore the card stock. No worries! I hacked it up and made a card for a challenge that I'll post tomorrow.

I think I'll play with this technique a bit more. I want to try different colors, and smaller margins. I have lots of Perfect Pearls that need some love, and some neglected embossing folders that need to be used.

Now go watch that video if you haven't already and let me know if you love it as much as I do. :D

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: SU Thanks, Taylored Expressions Thanks (I think I got this when I shopped the TE booth at Stampaway last year), SU 2-way glue pen, SU black card stock, misc. orange card stock, Anna Griffin Cuttlebug embossing folder (the brick one), and the following:
