I love a good pun, and the Berry Good stamp set from Avery Elle makes it really easy. I made this card a few days ago:
When I moved to OH two years ago, my friend Mary Dawn mentioned that Susan Raihala lived nearby. I love her work over at her personal blog. Turns out she lives about eight miles from me, so we've become fast friends, enjoying occasional lunches out and I am sure we'll soon need to hit up Marco's for a little retail therapy.
I mention Susan here because she has a "thing" for pears. It makes me laugh. So when I saw the (now expired) The Male Room challenge was "fruit":
all sorts of alarms went off in my head. In a good way! :)
So you see, this card needed to be made. Here it is again, since I've been blathering:
I stamped the left-hand pear, masked it, then stamped the second one. There needed to be two, you know. I colored the pears with Copics*, and put the white panel on a Hero Arts note card.
One thing I like about challenges is how it makes you dig into your stash, and helps you remember stamps buried therein. It's a healthy exercise. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
*Once again, I used the handy Copic Hex Chart created by Sandy Allnock. It's organized by color, not by number, and it's an amazing resource for selecting colors to use to blend.
Stuff I used: Copics (0, YG11, YG25, YG03, YG67, G28, C0), and the following:
Very nice card and sentiment, both. Have a perfect day, Leslie.
ReplyDeleteI know all about Susan and her pear thing. Hee hee. I also know that I read in the previous post that you didn't click thru VLVS naughty page (yet look at those pears in the next post!!!!).
ReplyDeleteAs a long time lurker on Susan's blog, this definitely had to be made for her. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSusan and I can compete for pear stamps…I got a very full drawer of them :) I am thrilled that you have a stamping buddy nearby; there is nothing better in my humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card, L!
