Almost a year ago I made this card:
It's bright and cheery, and I'm out of that paper. Tonight I had the idea to make some more with different not-so-in-your-face colors, and I this is what came out:
The colors are more muted, and they are more ME, too. On this version, I used one of my Kiwi Kiss corduroy buttons I bought in a Good Demo moment when Kiwi Kiss was first out. No, wait, I think I bought them at the end of their life when they were on sale. WHATEVER. I've never used them. Now I've used one and I decided it's not my fave.
Then I remembered I also hoarded some bulk-buy (Demo-only) buttons and pulled out some Celery ones:
WAY better! This card is a true fusion card when it comes to products. The patterned paper is from a Nikki Sivils 6x6 pack called "Something for Everyone". The bird stamp is Hero Arts. The sentiment is from A Muse. The ink is Memento Tuxedo Black. Everything else - card stock, button, Linen thread and ribbon - are SU.
Success!
In other news, my shipment of envelopes arrived today, so I'm pretty much set for the Winter. :) I am also no closer to an idea for my 1000th-post giveaway. I'm thinking, I'm thinking. It will come to me - I promise!
Thanks for stopping by!
Thumbs up to one of MY favourite peeps! I like it!
ReplyDeletevery cute! I do like that kiwi button :)
ReplyDeleteerm...celery...oops!! x
ReplyDeleteLove the new cards, both of them! :)
ReplyDeleteYou should totally do the Sketchbook project with your layered paper art - I would so love to see what you come up with! :)
Just met you and so glad to get to check it out. I myself have always had an affection for paper/stationary and sadly pens. Sadly because most girls buy shoes to indulge themselves I instead hit up the pen section and drool for my next love. These are so cute. I am not a crafty person anymore even though I have a craft room and a separate hoarder like craft cabinet. I am that lady all the kids in the neighbor come to my house to do art and bake. In some ways it's better than when I did it for myself, because I get to watch their young un-inhibited creativity explode. Keep up the awesome work.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I loved that card the first time I saw it...so much so that I purchased that stamp the next time I was at Angela's. It is still a virgin *sigh* okay...I am gonna find that stamp and make a woman out of it. CASE of Leslie on the way!!!
