Two More!

Okay, okay, just two more, then I'll stop! I have to leave shortly to unload the car, anyway.

First, I was inspired by this card to buy all the supplies needed to make it, then I hated my version of it. I dumbed it down and made this instead:

I got the whole Hero Arts set instead of just the wreath, and it came with that fun bow! This is a mish-mash of products: Basic Grey Figgy paper; PTI Ripe Avocado ink and layer card stock; SU Sahara Sand card base and Cherry Cobbler card stock (for the ribbon); SU sentiment; red glitter bling-y thingies from Pebbles. I REALLY like how this turned out!

Next, I opened and used my PTI "Through the Trees" set to attempt this:

... but overall, I failed. My Palette white ink has gone missing, and anything else needed to be embossed. This is Versamark embossed with white EP. Then ... the bird. You know that emboss resist technique? Yeah, I totally had that happening here - that bird would not stamp over the white.

One of my Tweeps suggested stamping him before I heated the white powder, so that's what I did above. I stamped the trees in Versamark, added the white EP, then inked the bird in Versamark followed by SU's Poppy Parade ink, stamped it over the branch, then covered IT with clear EP. THEN I heated it. Eh, it's okay, but the bird looks like he has either been impaled by that tree branch, or he has a tree branch coming out of his butt. Plus, the whole thing is very shiny. I'm still looking for my Palette Soft Snow ink. :(

My next attempt was to take a different approach: grey on white. No embossing required. What do you think? -->

Very, very simple. You have no idea how I thought and thought about how to get some poppy ribbon on there. No idea.

Oh, and today, when I stopped by that local craft show, I picked this up from MB so I'll be appropriately festive tomorrow:

Yeah, it's blurry. Are you seriously surprised about that? I was holding the camera above my head! (leavemealone)

Okay, I've gotta go put the booth walls into the car and head over to the venue to unload and maybe start to set up a little tonight.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Seriously loving all your creative endeavors of late, and seriously jealous that you're creating! Nothing but work and care-taking over here this week...

I like your version of the wreath card better than the more-is-more one you were CASEing, by the way...!
