Blue Friends

HA, no, this card isn't blue, but the sentiment has the word blue in it, and the rest was too long to type. I might have gotten lazier in my retirement.

I've played two more challenges. I took this sketch from the Stamplorations blog:

and the Simon Wednesday challenge to make a project with the theme of Friends:

YOU GOTTA HAVE FRIENDS

and made this card:

Yes, it's very brown. No, I don't know why; it just happened.

I was looking for a snarky sentiment in the craft room annex, and after about 15 minutes I gave up, but along the way I found this sentiment and image, so that's how this card came to be.

I streeeetched the sketch horizontally so my image and sentiment could be side-by-each. The image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink onto some textured Neenah Linen card stock. I then dug out my DCWV Timeless Type 8x8 Stack and cut strips form one of the *yawn* brown lettered sheets to put above and below the cream panel.

The whole thing was still *double-yawn* boring without some color, so I took the one sheet from the DCWV stack that had color in it and cut a strip to put above the sentiment. The whole thing is on a piece of Hero Arts dark brown card stock.

The end.

On another note, is there anyone out there who doesn't get the reference to blue hair? No, wait, don't tell me, or I'll feel even older than I already feel.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: Sentiment from River City Rubber Works in this Friendship category (they have awesome irreverence), image of ladies also from RCRW, paper strips from DCWV Timeless Type stack, Neenah Solar Linen card stock, and the following:

  5. I definitely get the blue hair reference, though my Grandma was a rebel and her rinse was a slightly lavender shade! Love the sentiment.
