A Lame Poll
No crafty stuff tonight, so I thought I'd give you some eye candy instead. This is one of my Twitter avatars. ;) Many of my followers were quite happy I changed back to CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow after a brief hiatus as a cranky old lady.
Anyway, I just wanted to mention I posted a poll over in my right side-bar. This was prompted by a comment someone made along the lines of: "Checks? Do people write checks any more? Seriously?" To which I replied, "Uh, YES, WE DO. Some of us small biz people not only write checks, but we accept them, too. I cannot justify the fees to accept credit cards."
In fact, at farmers markets like mine, most of the farmers don't accept credit cards, so if you're shopping for tomatoes, you carry cash. I have only risked 3 or 4 sales in 7 years because I don't take credit cards.
So tell me, besides me/myself and some of the other small biz peeps, and also my dear customers, could YOU live in a world without checks? Inquiring minds want to know!
In other news, I have a half-day off on Friday (YAY!) and I hope to get some paperwork done, and also get crafty so I'll have something to show you besides a lame poll.
Thanks for stopping by!

The only people who write checks are in front of me in line at the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteMy mother still does because she's afraid she won't remember how much she spent and where if she uses her debit card. She's never even activated the card o_O
ReplyDeleteSorry...had to do it!!! LOL. We write exactly three checks a month...the city, the water, and the insurance while DH is out of work (supposedly on disability but it has yet to kick in). We could do it with money orders or cash or even credit cards, but the city and water are drive thru and if we used cc then we would have to walk in...UGHHH!

If I had a sales booth I might have to re-think it, but I haven't written a check myself in probably 5 years. We have so much trouble in my town with check fraud I shudder at the thought of taking a bad check...
