I finally got around to doing this sketch last night, and I just realized it was for LAST weekend's Saturday. Yeah, I'm a little behind. So here's the sketch (Stamping 411, Sketch challenge 192):
... and here's my card:
I'm really happy with this for many reasons. First: it came out exactly as I'd hoped. This stamp set is not something I would normally purchase, given my sukky coloring skills, but the sentiment sold me. Plus, I was in my LSS, and it was too easy not to grab it.
Second: look at those yummy papers! They are from a newly-opened pack of Basic Grey marjolaine papers, and HELLO! Greens & Blues! You'll be seeing more of this paper now that I've opened it. I paper-pieced her dress because it was too easy to do, and because the thought of coloring that big open space made me sweat. I paper-pieced the leaves, too. I would have paper-pieced her face if I could have.
The layers of green are SU's Artichoke. The flower is from my stash, and the button is from an old SU button collection - Earth Tones, I think.
I did another challenge that I'll post separately so I can link it to the other blog, so stop back and check it out.
Thanks for stopping by!
I love your little PI girl so much. And I really think that sentiment is something we should ALL do. If we start each day "with a WHEE" think of how much happier we would all be? :)
