This month's Timeless Twine challenge is Mother's Day. Even though it's past the official holiday, it's always a good time to tell your Mom you love her. :) My Mom's no longer with us, but I tell her I love her all the time. It makes me happy.
This card also makes me happy:
I'm happy because I used a lot of "stuff", and it came together fairly quickly. The patterned paper is from my still-out Taylored Expressions kit, and the red is also from the kit. I used a helpful hint from the Online Card Classes Pattern Play class: The patterned paper didn't look quite right until I trimmed it down so the pattern was more even. You'll notice the circles are cut in about half on both the top and bottom of the piece. That made all the difference!
I punched holes in one row of circles and threaded some of the yummy Timeless Twine natural white twine through them and tied it into a bow. I'll eventually straighten out those ends that wrap around the sides of the paper. Why is it I only notice those after I've posted the photo? :(
I used another trick from one of our classes to get the letters straight: I lined them up on my grid paper, then picked them up together with a piece of washi tape. I applied the adhesive to the backs, then placed the tape over my card to stick them down. Easy peasy.
I was going to go with a more up-and-down "I love you" sentiment, but decided the contrast in fonts here was the better choice.
All in all, this was a quick card to make. Gotta love that.
I hope to get to a few more challenges this weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
Products used but not linked below: SU Very Vanilla textured card stock, Taylored Expressions card kit, Timeless Twine Natural White twine.
ETA: If someone could tell me why there are boxes around each of the products below, I'd appreciate it. The same thing happened with my cat font post.
A fun design and a sweet card! I too have been paying closer attention to cutting pp so that the pattern is even on both sides; it really does make a difference. That JM is so smart :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty. I like the well-placed holes for the twine and the patterned paper cut so evenly. Thanks for the tip about the letters, that's a good one!
