I've moved on to another sketch, this time from Clean&Simple:
Why this one? Well, when I sold my office furniture, I was a bit behind in emptying it out, so I may or may not have dumped a few drawers into a few boxes. Today I unpacked and repacked a box or two and re-found a box of mini CD-Rs that are NEON, so I needed to keep them and maybe use them on cards. See that circle in the sketch? Mmmm-hmmm. Lookie:
I glued and taped that baby to the card, man. It's purty. I made the banner from a red washi sheet, the pom-pom ribbon was a piece left over from some stuff I'd hoarded, and another snarky sentiment. Aren't perky people the worst, especially in the morning?
I had a little adhesion problem with the sentiment banner. I tied a piece of aqua twine around the end (no room for a button) and had to staple the darn thing to the washi layer to keep it in place.
I'm kinda happy with how this turned out. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Products used: misc mini CD-R, SU pom-pom ribbon, sentiment from ... I don't recall, Aqua Divine Twine from Whisker Graphics, and the following:
I love this card!! Perfect design. I'm putting that Shape 'N Tape on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good use for those old CDs. That is a cool card!
ReplyDeleteNow that is genius recycling. I almost feel like cleaning out a couple of my desk drawers & seeing what I find.
ReplyDeleteI'd better go have a drink instead ;) Wait for the feeling to pass, as it were.
