Having survived a steady diet of The Heap, and only The Heap, for most of March and April, I have decided my new MO for May will be making something mostly from The Heap (Something Old), which will be rewarded by Something New, wherein I'll allow myself to delve into my new goodies. Sounds like a plan with which I can live! :-)
Since I made a card for Grey Day last night with scraps from The Heap, tonight I allowed myself to open my new 6x6 pack of Lime Rickey papers from Basic Grey. These are definitely not go-to Crooked colors, so this was both a little scary and a little fun. Let's check it out:
I paired a wild-and-crazy paper with a totally muted (and very Crooked-ish) paper and put it on a {gasp} Green Galore base. (Crazy, I know!)
I selected a very bright yellow dotted ribbon from my Box of Every Color Yellow But The One I Need Ribbons, mostly because the green dots were the right color green, and I bought it cuz it might go with something, and it does, sortof, so I used it. I layered the papers on Garden Green and then again on white to make it pop a little.
I used one of my new Lime Rickey brads to hold the bow together and the matching small orange brads on the sentiment (by A Muse).
Not my best work, but maybe someone will like the bright colors. One never knows! :-)
Here is one of the City Cards I made for Coral, the winner of my Blog-iversary G-I-V-E-A-W-A-Y, Part First contest. A set just like these could be yours if you enter my Blog-iversary G-I-V-E-A-W-A-Y, Part Second contest. Well, not just like these, unless you live in Warwick, Qld, but you get the idea....
Yawn! Time to hit the hay and start a new book before I fall asleep. Something historical, I am sure.
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, you lucky girl! My Lime Rickey brads and 6x6 pad are still in the box. I have completed 7/8 Lime Rickey cards from the BG card kit :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun card...and I am sure mama Morrison will love her Warwick cards too!
These cards are great. Love the combo you put together on the Lime Rickey one. And those houses are cute, cute, cute.
ReplyDeleteI really like the card with the yellow ribbon! The yellow stands out against all that pattern, and darnit something needs to!
ReplyDeleteAlso, the sentiment is *hilarious*!
