Washi, No Washi

I didn't mean to do it. Nope, I didn't. I know I've been obsessing about Washi tape these days, but I had no intention of using it on this card. It ... just happened.

I chose to use this MFT sketch:

because I intended to use a lot of my smaller remnants of pretty paper and this seemed perfect. And it was! Lookie:

These are all papers from my Basic Grey PB&J 6x6 pack. See those strips of Washi tape? Afterthought. Yep, I tried two other things there before I went for the tape. It all started with this strip of Bazzill remnant from making these cards. I thought it was the perfect color to go with these papers. It was, but ... well, look:

It's the right color, but it's very shiny. I had both shiny strips stuck on there, then had to peel them off. I first turned them over to the matte side and stuck them back on, but it just wasn't right. It was only then that I thought to try Washi tape.

The dies used are the MFT Rolled Daisy and the Dizzy Doily Duo. Sentiment is from the Skipping Stones Designs Grunge set.

I have several other sketches stacked up in The Captain's Quarters, plus some ideas from the last two A Cut Above classes I want to try, so I'll be back soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. The Washi tape is much better on this card, that paper is pretty but too shiny. Pretty card.
