I Might Be Done

Even though I play over at the Jingle Belles challenge a lot, it's not enough to yield the number of holiday cards I need each year. So while some of you are OMG I NEED TO DESIGN MY HOLIDAY CARD, I'm the same way, but on a lesser scale. I've got about 75% of mine covered by the end of November. :)

I decided I needed a few more Christmas cards, and since I had a new stamp set, I figured why not? I made a few of these:

I used three colors of Distress ink and water colored the panels, then flicked some water on them to get spots. Then I got tired and left them to dry over night.

The next daaaay ... (Does anyone else have Little Bunny Foo Foo streaming in their head right now? You're welcome.)

The next day, I die-cut all the panels so they were the same size, then used my MISTI to stamp the sentiment in Hero Arts Silver. I need to get a re-inker so I don't have to ink it up twice to get a good impression. Or maybe it's because it's water color paper and the texture needs more impressions than regular card stock. Whatever.

I embossed the sentiment and star with SU silver embossing powder. It's very shiny:

Purple. That Blueprint Sketch color is on the purple/violet side, and I got to go look for a piece of purple card stock for a layer. This usually ends badly for me, but luckily I found a piece of textured 12x12 card stock I declared to be close enough. I've now disappeared 1 1/2 sheets of it, too. #bonus

My next task is to start addressing envelopes, and matching cards to people. Do you do that? Since I have so many different cards, I like to give them to specific people who'd appreciate them. Some of my friends wouldn't appreciate a snarky Christmas card, for example.

Wow, it's only the 10th. I might actually pull this off this year and get stuff mailed before the 23rd. Could happen.

Thanks for stopping by!

Some of the stuff I used: SU silver embossing powder, mystery purple card stock, and the following:

  1. Love the card and yes, I too match up my cards to the recipient. It's ridiculous how mush I fret over it sometimes!

  2. Good for you! Almost there! Woo! This is a great card, love the shine to the greeting. And as soon as you said you wanted a purple layer I thought how good for you to use up some purple. And yes, yes, I too match card to person. I have quite a number of my cards sent but not all of them. I think about half. It's getting there. I got packages mailed today. That's something.

  3. This is beautiful! Yay for the perfect purple layer. Really beautiful, L!

  4. Beautiful colours, lovely shiny sentiment... what's not to love? But wait... there are people that don't appreciate a good snarky Christmas card? Pshaw.

  5. Fabulous colors, and it might be my favorite of the season. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏻

I'd love to hear what you really think! :-)
