Another New Stamp Set

I got two stamp sets from CAS-ual Fridays, and since I've used one on two different cards, I thought I'd introduce the second one to some ink, too.

Here's my card:

The stamp set is called WTF, and, well, you know I couldn't resist that, right? In keeping this blog rated G, please notice the WTF stands for Who's Turning Forty. Mmm-hmmm.

Here I stamped several images from the set using Archival Jet Black and Distress Peacock Feathers. I also incorporated a washi banner from a previous card that didn't make the final card; now it's off of my desk. :) The background image is Hero Art's Lattice. I was going to add another color to the dots in the borders, but decided to leave it more monotone. The jury is still out on that one.

SOS #77 - Thanks or Thanksgiving

Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge over at Shopping Our Stash. This week we ask you to make a Thanks or Thanksgiving card. Couldn't be easier!

For my card I went 100% with stuff laying on my desk:

Yes, 100% (except for the card base.) The panel with dots of Liquid Pearls was inspired by a card from the Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop. That's right, I took a Holiday Card Workshop even though I rarely make holiday cards. That's because the techniques and ideas can be use for any card, not just for the holidays. I love those classes.

I used lots of tiny dots of Glossy Accents to stick down the die-cut panel. I tried lots of other things and that one seemed to work the best. The striped papers were out on my desk from this card, so I opened and used my MFT Postage Stamp edge die on a piece of it. I trimmed off a sliver to place beneath the die-cut panel.

The flower parts were out on my desk, left over from this card. I actually used an eyelet for the center, then filled it with Liquid Pearls. The sentiment was out on my desk, too. The Kraft panel was from my recently-organized remnant box. Stuff is amazingly easy to find, now!

You Are My World

I wandered into The Captain's Quarters tonight with the hopes of making a card or two, and I DID! First, I wanted to play this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

... which expired at noon today. :( I wanted to use some washi tape (surprise!) and decided on this Just Add Ink color challenge:

which I think has a few hours left on it. heh heh

Here's my card, then I'll explain:

The base is Sahara Sand, as is the ink used for the world image behind the sentiment. I declared the tapes to be Marina Mist and a faded Tangerine Tango, and the die cut over the tapes is from what I believe to be Early Espresso (it was from the remnant box, so who knows).

I really like how this turned out!
