The idea for this card was a combination of things. It started with the cards in this post on the OWH site. Then in today's blurfing, I ran across Donna's post which led me to this Moxie Fab World post, and then I disappeared for a while to make this:
I found the answer to "what Copics would one use to color camouflage?" at this post on Sandy's blog. The stamp is from the Paper Smooches Circle of Honor set. But before I started stamping, I knew I needed a background for the white circles, so I did direct-to-paper with Distress Peeled Paint with the plan to punch 1 1/8" circles to go behind the 1" circles on which I'd stamped the hearts.
Tip: It takes a while for that direct-to-paper ink to dry, especially if you go over it a few times, so that's why I colored the paper first, then did all the stamping of hearts and coloring before I punched out the green circles. I made a boo-boo (one of a gazillion) and tried to un-stick one of the white circles from its green base, and it ripped ... soundlessly ... the paper was still damp. A heat gun might be in order next time.
Coloring tip from Sandy's blog: Color the whole piece with E31, then go back and color sections in your greens. I'm very happy with how the coloring came out, and I even mostly stayed in the lines.
That's three more cards for my new, growing OWH pile. Next up, a fun card, with a total FAIL built into it. Stay tuned for that. (I only wish these FAILs weren't so easy. ;/)
Thanks for stopping by!
