Sorry if you're hearing the Beach Boys now, but welcome to another Shopping Our Stash challenge! This week we ask you to use wood on your card. If you are like me, you have no shortage of things from which to choose. You can use real or faux wood elements like wooden sheets, buttons, embellishments, etc., or anything that reflects wood: wood-grain, trees, log cabin, etc. So many options!!!
I chose to use a lonely SU wooden sheet and some wooden embellishments:
The center panel is part of a wooden sheet I knew I had somewhere, and now it's been rediscovered and cut into. I embossed it with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, and just this very second I realized I could have used a wood-grain embossing folder. Oh, well. I also just decided that would have been too much, so I'm okay with my original decision in this case. :)
All the hearts were die-cut from my Ranger manilla tags I use for picking up extra ink from my craft sheet. I also pick up pearlized sprays, so the hearts are very shiny, too.
The butterfly is really two - an open one layered on a solid one, both veneer. I colored them with Copics, then sprayed them with pearlized water. Then I decided the blue was too dark, so I sprayed it with some white-looking Spritz stuff. That might have worked.
Now it's YOUR turn! Go into your stash and pull out wood-themed stuff, make a card, then come back to Shopping Our Stash and link us up so we can see what you've made!
Thanks for stopping by!
