Yes, I know that title is a partial statement, but the stamp says "You made my day" and I think it should be "You've made my day". I'm probably wrong, but I couldn't bring myself to put a pronoun in front of that title. I need a life.
I finally played a challenge from my list! Here's the sketch from
CAS(E) This Sketch!:
and my fairly literal interpretation:
I used mostly
scraps remnants from my Simple Stories 24/Seven paper pack. You know those pages they include with patterns from all the other papers? I call them "summary pages", and I almost never use them. I had a strip of those circled numbers as my horizontal piece, but it wasn't right. I took that summary page and cut out just enough of the rows to cover most of the horizontal strip and still leave one row of the circled numbers. I like the circles above the banners.
I put my sentiment above the papers and added a few already-die-cut hearts from the same pack.
I likey! Okay, I"m going back in for a few more.
Thanks for stopping by!
Products used but not linked below: misc cream card stock, SU Early Espresso card stock.
Great way to use those "summary papers", and a very cute card for the sketch.
ReplyDeleteI kinda like the different sentiments that are around. My husband struggles with one that I've got that says 'feel better soon' Love the colours and papers you chose too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing with us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!
Leslie, your card popped out at me in the gallery over at Case This Sketch and I had to pop over to let you know how great I think it is, but now that I'm here I also have to let you know you're cracking me up with the grammar thing! An old English major myself, I feel a kindred spirit with you -- that's totally what I would do! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I love the stripes of color and pattern over the banner pieces.
ReplyDeleteYou do the best things with remnants! I really like this card, it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeletei think if we're in the present tense, it's definitely "you've made my day"... but in retrospect, "you made my day" (yesterday, last tuesday etc) is still correct. more correct, i suppose, b/c we'd be well and truly in the past tense. so if the day will have been made, and perhaps several more will have transpired before the card arrives... "you made my day" is the better stamp, grammatically! :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteon the other hand, that is the most boring comment anyone has ever left on a blog EVER... so let me change direction and say how ♥COOL♥ the actual stamp, card, sketch and post all totally are!
you've made MY day!!!!!!! :) :) :)
