Sometimes, Life STINKS

Oh, those ladies at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers have really done it this time. The current challenge is:

I went through ALL of my snarky stamps, three times, and can you believe I don't have a fart stamp? Not even a "old fart" birthday stamp. What's a girl to do?!?!?!?!

I was whining via email to another stamper about this challenge, and she was lucky and had a fart stamp. But she said if she hadn't, she didn't even have a skunk stamp.

But *I* do - DING DING DING. So thanks for the suggestion. I only wish I wasn't so stubborn and determined to make this work, as I almost slit my wrists. Seriously. Every time I got close to being finished, I schmeared ink somewhere on the card front. Like 14 times. I was not giving up!

Finally, after the last schmear, I changed gears a little. May I introduce you to: Albino Skunk:

I stamped and colored that darned skunk at least seven or eight times -- just the skunk. I knew if I messed it up, I hadn't wasted time on any other parts. My trash can is full of schmeared skunks. Or schmeared splotches somewhere else on the card front that could not be disguised.  Why yes, I am whining.

So I stamped the skunk and masked him. Done.

The little trail of scent coming out from behind him is from the WPlus9 Going Places stamp set.

I thought it would be cute to have the skunk sitting in a flower bed, and I finally ended up with this version. Yes, several failed flower gardens were added to the trash.

I still have plenty of schmears on this card, one of which was sortof covered up by tiny orange flowers. The black schmear appeared when I was almost done. NOT starting over again.

The washi tape is my OMG, it's not done?! moment. I just wanted to ground him and the flowers, so brown it was.

There are also several spots where I "touched up" with a white gel pen, It looks okay from afar, but I'm not sure I can ever send this card.

End whinefest.

So I'll go link up to the Sisterhood, and put this behind me. Hopefully there will be no more fart challenges.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: washi tape, Copics (RV11, E74 Cocoa, E71 Champagne, YR12, Y08 Acid, R05 Salmon, YG63, G24 Willow, B000), and the following:

  2. Don't call it schmearing, call it artistic colouring. That's what I would have done after the first several tries. I like him as an albino, though! And the flowers are beautiful. Thanks for joining the flatulent fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

  4. My favorite line of this funny post (well, SOMEday you'll look back and laugh!) is this: "...and put this behind me."! Really, did you just say that? Bwahaha! I love that you refused to give up, that you found your schtink, that you said fluff it and just made your skunk albino, and finally, that you followed my lead and spelled smear the way you did!! Hugs, Schmarnell
