SOS #84 - Buttons

Happy Tuesday, and welcome to new challenge over at Shopping Our Stash! This week our theme is BUTTONS! We ask you to use some of the oldest buttons in your stash.

Buttons, I haz 'em. My oldest buttons are probably the collection of mini buttons I've amassed over the years. When I had my major Button Organization Episode just about a year ago,  I left the mini button collection alone and didn't sort them by color. I do have my limits.

This is what I have left in that jar:

(Yes, my desk is its usual mess. Leave me alone.) Then I started fiddling with scraps and cut-offs that were languishing on my desk. I had a piece of a black border and a stamped piece I didn't use left over from making this card; I layered them and I liked the result. After I added some mini buttons, I had this:

I still had no idea what I'd do with it!  I went in search of something else on my desk and found this paper from my last OWH effort:

... and a card was born! I layered everything on black, and this is what came out:

I knew I wanted to pull out the blue in that busy paper, and do you know I have NOT ONE THING that color blue? Nope. No ribbon, no twine, no ink to color my own ribbon or twine. Oooh, maybe Ballet Blue would have worked. TOO LATE. As a last resort I searched through my washi tape and found that one you see, so I've used what - 3" of it here? Go, me.

The sentiment is even from a Verve stamp set I've had out on my desk for about two weeks, thinking I'd use it on some OWH cards. Instead, I've been shifting it from one spot to another.

Okay, now it's YOUR turn. Go into your stash, pull out your oldest buttons, use them to make a card, then come back to Shopping Our Stash and link us up so we can see what you've made!

Thanks for stopping by!
