Washi Miss You

When I saw this week's sketch at Clean & Simple:

I knew exactly what needed to be done. You see, not too long ago Simon Says Stamp had a 25% Off sale on their washi tape, and, well, yes, I shopped. Even though I've sworn off buying more of what I already have too much of, some of the stuff on my Wish List (where I'd left it because I was strong), magically found its way to my shopping cart. Sigh.

Don't you agree that this sketch just screams washi?! So I broke out two new sets (3-packs) of washi to make a few cards for OWH. Like with any recipe, the first time I follow the directions, and then I make it my own on subsequent visits. So I used each 3-pack of washi tapes with their sistren for these cards. I made two of each.

Here's the first one:

I added a few punched hearts since they were on my desk, and because I have this fear of white space. And because on this particular card, there were unfortunate glue smears.

Here's the second card:

I mean - how easy is this?! Okay, I stamped the sentiment a little off, but still, not too shabby, huh?

In other news, it's time for the second round of VSN challenges over on Splitcoast. It's been a lot of fun so far, so please join us!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hooray for fabulous washi usage...both for the sketch and OWH. I actually broke mine out this week; a fab orange stripe you gave me. But I couldn't match the orange to any of my Halloween papers...so it is hanging around for a while :)

  2. Both of those are very pretty and I like the center sentiment stamped a little off from the others.

  3. oh HOW FAB are these??!?!?! ♥♥♥ (for the record: i LOVE the little hearts, they take the whole design from "super PLAIN c&s--still impressive, but just a bit stark; to SUPER COOL and sophisticated, imo!!!) (also it is somehow heartening to me that i'm not the only one who'd have "unfortunate glue smears" on anything white!!! so there's that!!!) ♥
