I'm home from my too-short vacation to the middle of nowhere, doing nothing. It was a blissful few days, though. I came back to some Happy Mail, so I thought I'd play a few HYCCT challenges.
Today's challenge is Courage, and we're supposed to make a card or two to inspire strength and courage to a patient. I used my new-to-me Hero Arts & Studio Calico set called Calico Borders to make this:
Lest you think I lined those up straight while stamping, I did not. I could not. Nope, I got them straight on my grid paper, then stuck them to the acrylic block together and stamped them together. I almost - almost - cut the sentiment apart, since it needs the full 5 1/2" width to fit on the card. Instead I went borderless. This time.
I colored the butterflies with Copics, punched the top with an SU punch, and added some Liquid Pearls. I like how this one came out.
Next, I did yesterday's challenge to strip. HAHAHA! No, that wouldn't be pretty. We're supposed to make a card using strips of paper behind our main image, and this is to signify how we have to strip to the waist when we have our annual mammograms. Paper strips I can do. Here's my card:
You have no idea how tempted I was to break out some Washi tape, but instead I used some paper strips from my Basic Grey Hello Luscious papers. I love Stella (from Totally Stampalicious). She speaks to me.
In other news, I'm headed to VA this evening for First Friday in Leesburg. Why not come out and see us?
Thanks for stopping by!
