Retro Sketch #33

Another sketch on my pile o'sketches is this one from Retro Sketches:

I broke out my new Lawn Fawn papers (I love the colors!) and made this:

And yes, I know I swore off new paper packs, but aren't these colors yummy?

For the sketch, I used part of the banner page for the top element, and Hero Arts Pool Party buttons for all but one of the heart elements. I used an SU punch for the one heart; it's stacked 5 high so it has some heft.

In other news, I watched Felix Baumgartner rise up to 129,000 feet into the Stratosphere, drop down a bit, then jump out of a perfectly good balloon capsule. It took less than 5 minutes for him to reach Earth, and the man landed on his feet. I don't think any of the 6.6+ million viewers on YouTube breathed for that 5 minutes. It was just amazing to watch, though I heard later that we were on a 20-second delay in case anything went wrong. I'm so glad it didn't!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Awesome card!! I love how you used the papers!! I just got these this weekend and can't wait to use them!

  2. Cute! I would never have the patience to tie those buttons/embellies...but the result is fab!

  3. Adorable! I watched Felix, too. It was amazing. The press conference is about to start, I'm off to watch it.

  4. Holy overachiever! You know, whenever you see 3 or 4 posts in a row from me, it's all because of you ;) Love this card - the flag paper is super cute! - and how am I not following retrosketches? Off to add it now. So, you've got me back for adding to YOUR reader!

  5. we watched that, too, i just cannot BELIEVE both his amazing courage (or heck, just his daredevilly australianyness!) and then the fact that we can WATCH something like that while (ok, almost while) it is happening! speaking of which, in abou 20 min i'm gonna watch my friend liz in a flash mob in jerusalem!!! duuuuude, i SO LOVE technology!

two other things i love, and should perhaps have mentioned FIRST since it's YOUR blog about PAPERCRAFTING: that amazing retrosketch and your ♥FABULOUS♥ card! (& yeah, you totally needed those papers OBVIOUSLY!!!) :) :) :)

I'd love to hear what you really think! :-)
