My Darling Clementine

I can't even begin to count how many times my Cosmo Cricket Clementine paper pack has come to my rescue. I bought it for the colors (of course) and I've used it several times for color challenges that called for orange or green, or both.  Last night was no different.

I decided I needed to combine a few challenges. First, the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch!:

Then the current Seize The Birthday challenge to use monochromatic orange:

And lastly, I used a Paper Smooches image so I could link up to their current Guest Designer Search for December, because what the heck, right?

Here's my card:

Admittedly, the doilies probably detract from the CAS intent of the sketch (could have used plain circles), but I'd recently re-discovered my MFT mini doilies while organizing my dies, and, well, they needed to be used.

I also hope the card exudes enough orange for the Seize The Birthday challenge. I'm not a big orange fan, so I resort to patterned paper that fit the bill. Hey, I stamped the bird on orange, and highlighted him with an orange Copic, and I used orange & white twine to sew on the clear buttons, so hopefully that's enough orange to "exude". :)

This card actually came together pretty fast, so I'm pleased with that. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

ETA: I snagged a Runner Up spot at Seize the Birthday! :)

Stuff I used: Divine Twine, SU clear buttons from forever ago, and the following:

  1. Great card. I am not a fan of orange either but this is cards 'exudes' just the right amount of orange.

  3. That little bird is adorable. I think there's enough orange on there, I rarely use it except on Halloween cards. Some shades are prettier than others.

  8. Pardon me, Ma'am, but your orange is exuding. That is a fun paper pack. BTW, have you ever made anything with the talking condom from the set the greeting came from?
