SOS Challenge #5 - Tools of the Trade

This week's challenge over at Shopping Our Stash is "Tools of the Trade". We challenge you to use one of the tools you have that has been neglected. You know, Nestabilities, punches still NIP (New In Package), Crop-O-Dile, Sew Easy, Fastenator, brad-maker, mini sewing machine, Cricut, Bind-It-All, Stencils, decorative scissors, Xyrons in various sizes ... you get the idea.

Now you may ask how I have such a long list of neglected tools in my grey matter. I don't want to talk about it.

For my card:

I chose two Martha Stewart punches that I actually had to take out of their boxes to use. Yes, it's sad. I cut into a piece of Bazzill embossed paper and used it for all the parts-is-parts. I love the tone-on-tone and white-on-white look it gives. The white flower was from a pack I re-discovered at the bottom of a bag while looking for something else.

Since this card stock is embossed, I couldn't use regular ink on it, so I used Stazon for the sentiment.

Here is a close-up of the punched pieces:

You can also see the shine of the embossing on the card stock. I actually sold this card on Saturday to a guy. :) He said he'd gone to a card store and came away feeling very "meh". I'm glad he liked my card!

So go forth into your s-crap rooms, dig through the pile(s) of neglected or unused tools and USE one or more of them this week, then link up over at the SOS blog and show us what you've done!

Thanks for stopping by!

  6. holy ♥WOW♥ i looooooove this one. you may have already sensed that, somehow, mysteriously, since of course i have never TOLD YOU that already!!! ;)

the white on white (on white on white) of this is THE BEST BIT!!! i could NEVER pull that off... and yet... it makes me wanna *TRY*!!!

(ps: i actually realized reading this that i DO have a fancy interchangeable punch thingie that is still in the pkg several months after purchase; most unlike me, but i think the "fancy interchangeability" of it may have psyched me out. i must RETRIEVE that thing, post haste!!!) :)
