Scrappy Thank You

One of the things I did on my road trip to Libby's craft room was attempt to demonstrate her Copic Air Brush system to her. The result of that effort was a piece of paper partially sprayed with orange and red Copics, and it was sitting on my desk, part of a growing UFO pile. At one point I decided it needed to be used, so I did. Here's the card I made with it:

I die-cut the YOU from the orange-red air-brushed card stock, and decided to put it onto something grey or silver. I placed a chevron stencil over a piece of white card stock (inside a box) and spritzed it with some Hero Arts silver ink spray. In real life it's kindof shimmery.

I stamped all but the S of the word THANKS from another Hero Arts stamp set (covered it with a piece of washi tape while inking, then removed the washi tape before I stamped it) using Archival Black ink.

I cut a few more YOUs out of white and stacked them up, putting the orange one on top, then glued that to the chevron panel. The chevron panel was stuck to the white card base, and it was finished.

I love that I used things from my UFO pile within a day of creating them. :) Well, most of them. I did bring some home with me, and I hope to use them this week. Uh-huh, right.

I'm entering this into the Runway Inspired Challenge:

I used the pattern on the area rug as my inspiration. It's what made me think of a grey, lined background for my die-cut orange sentiment. I know, I know, it's not based on her outfit, but it was based on something in the inspiration photo. :)

Today I plan to finish assembling the remaining card parts I made last week, and hopefully share those, then dig into some of my new crafty things and make even MORE cards. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Neat card. How do you like your airbrush system? I saw a demo of it and thought it nifty, but not for me.
