Sending Hugs

Here's one more card I made last weekend:

It was nearing the end of the day, and I was pondering this piece of water color experiment I had in my UFO box. Then I spied a piece of glitter paper on my pal's desk. I'd also spied the Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts die in her "stuff I have but mostly haven't used yet" pile of dies, and an idea was born!

First I used the partial die-cutting method to only cut the hearts within the colored part of the paper. I just hung the bottom of the paper off the edge of the cutting plate when I ran it through the Vagabond. It worked perfectly!

Next I cut a piece of the silver glimmer paper and put it behind the die-cut piece. So shiny!

I layered the water color panel on a piece of Simon Says Audrey Blue card stock, then put the whole think on a white base.

The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn So Much To Say set. I stamped it onto the smooth side of a piece of water color paper so it matched the white panel. Both the water color panel and the sentiment strip are mounted on foam tape.

I do love working with parts-is-parts and having it come together like this. And I like that my friend has stuff laying around on her desk like I do -- there's so much inspiration in that! I can't be inspired by looking at a pristine desk; I just can't.

Now I'm headed back to the craft room to see what else I can rustle up.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Funny, my watercolour *experiments* just never turn out so nicely! Love this bright card.

  2. I'm with Lindsey. Mine usually turn out crappy and then I have to re-do them. But this? This is all kinds of awesome!

  3. I'm always impressed that you keep and USE your experiments and cast offs. I feed the trashcan with mine, or if they are somewhat decent I put them in a baggie and gift them to a friend who loves scraps. She does punch art. With punches. Remember those?
