A Super Kid!

Wait, one more! One more!!!!

While wandering around Libby's craft room last week, I saw that she had a stash of washi tape, and I saw a wide striped one in there, so guess what? Yep:

I started with the tape, then found the still-current Freshly Made Sketches sketch:

I first put the tape onto a white panel*, then went rummaging through available "new" stamps. Lucky for me Libby has kids and buys things I wouldn't, like teacher and kid stamps. I used her Simon Says Stamp Lunch Box Notes set for the words, and stamped them in Hero Arts Navy ink onto a small white rectangle. I also stamped the small, open star from the set in Hero Arts Red Royal.

I used the Red Royal ink to color a scrap of white card stock, then die-cut a star from the Spellbinder's Stars and added that next to the sentiment. The rectangle panel was layered on a piece of SU Not Quite Navy card stock, then attached to the card base with foam tape. That white panel was also layered onto Not Quite Navy, and the whole shebang was put onto a white card base.

I thought it still needed something, so I added a few wood veneer stars, and colored them with red and blue Copics. THEN it was finished.

Okay, NOW I'm off to re-assemble my craft desk and start to work on the remaining partial cards I brought home with me. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

ETA: Squee! This card got an honorable mention at Freshly Made Sketches

* I like to work on a 4" x 5 1/4" panel when making cards. One reason is that when I work with washi tape, I can wrap the ends around the back of the panel. Another reason is if I decide to sew on a button or poke a hole for a brad, I can still do it and not impact the card base.  Also, I mess up a lot, and this saves me a ton of card stock, since I only toss 1/4 of a sheet instead of ripping off the back of the card in disgust, usually crookedly.

Stuff I used: SU Not Quite Navy card stock, washi tape, and the following:

  8. I like your kid card. That tape looks like a colorful version of the type of paper we learned to do cursive on back in the day. You know, back when they taught cursive writing...
