More Mass-Production

Mass-production is not for the faint of heart, nor the weak of back, nor the easily distracted. I might fit all three of these categories, so naturally I dove into what turned out to be another mass-production exercise, though not nearly as big as my Labor Day effort here, here, and here. Nope, today I only made 20 cards, and it's all June's fault.

Yes, it is. :P I started out reading this blog post of hers, and when I saw how simple the sketch was that she chose, I decided to be like her and I did the same thing. But where she made 4 cards then cleaned up (what does that mean, anyway?!), I selected a bunch of papers from the 6x6 pack I'd chosen and ended up making 20. I really do need a keeper.

Here's the Freshly Made Sketch I used for their Anniversary Challenge which is to use any previous sketch:

See that blue panel? I could see me disappearing all sorts of paper, and I did make a pretty good dent. Let's get started, shall we?

All of these papers are from the Basic Grey Picadilly 6x6 pad. Here's the first batch:

For those first two, I couldn't decide between the red or green mat, so I didn't decide and made one of each. Don't you just love stamping? :)

Then I made these two:

For all the other papers, I made four with different sentiments. Here's the first set:

One each of the above and two of this one:

Here's the next set:

Again, one each of the above and two of this one:

The penultimate set (love that word!):

And the last set:

I use the term "set" loosely here. They will be sent to OWH as single cards. Also, my history of selling sets of cards is dismal. In eight years I've sold less than 10 card sets. Cards don't cost less to make because you put multiples in a box, and people compare the price of hand-made to the $20 box of 100 they can get at Hallmark, so yeah, not a big seller.

Some of my tweeps suggested I give them as gifts. Um, I don't send cards, I just make them. Plus sometimes I feel it's presumptuous to think someone would want a box of cards as a gift. Maybe that's just me.

So OWH is the winner here, and I am too, a little bit, in that I've slimmed down my stash a smidge. I have another sketch out that should help me use up the cut-off pieces from these papers, then I think I'll go back to my one-of-a-kinds for a while. I'll be back, one way or the other. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
